Myanmar Embassy warns citizens to avoid parts of Bangkok


The Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok on Tuesday warned its citizens to avoid 10 areas of the city it considers high-risk, the day after a bombing in the Thai capital killed at least 20 people and injured more than 120.
The bombing Monday night at a major intersection near the Erawan Hindu shrine killed and injured several foreign nationals, including Chinese and Philippine citizens. Several large hotels are located in the area, which is popular with foreign tourists.No Myanmar nationals have been reported among the casualties. A statement on the embassy’s website warns Myanmar citizens to avoid Ratchaprasong intersection, Pathuwan intersection, Silom Road, Khao San Road, Narathiwat intersection, Victory Monument, Tuek Chai intersection, Benjasiri Park, Soi Thong Lar and Sukhumvit Road.
