Ms Yanghee Lee, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar met with local authorities and people in Kyaukpyu yesterday.
At the meeting with Ms Yanghee Lee, officials of the Kyaukpyu District General Administration Department clarified measures for development, security, the rule of law and regional development.
Following the meeting, the UN delegation went to Pyinphyumaw Village which has a population of 318 Rakhine people are living and looked into resettlement and challenges of the villagers.
She also met with 15 farmers in the evening, discussing over Kyaukpyu Economic Zone. She also met with 12 people from Mala Island, Chaungwa Village and Kalarbar Village at the Palace Hotel.
She also visited the Kyauktalon Camp for the internally displaced persons and held talks with 20 people living there.
