MPs should do their best to fulfill constituents’ requests: Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker

The chairmen and secretaries of fifteen parliamentary committees presented the committee performance reports to be approved by the Hluttaw on the 19th day of the fourth regular section of the second Amyotha Hluttaw in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The speaker of Amyotha Hlutaw, Mahn Win Khaing Than, announced that the Hluttaw agreed with the committee’s performance reports after receiving reaction from all Members of Parliament. U Myint Naing, Member of Parliament for the No. 5 constituency in Rakhine State, discussed the performance report of the Government’s Guarantees, Pledges and Undertakings Vetting Committee in a constructive way. U Thein Swe, Chairman of the Committee and Member of Parliament for the No. 10 constituency in Ayeyawady Region, presented the performance of the committee to be approved by the Hluttaw and received approval.
The Speaker then announced that the terms of the other 12 committees in the Amyotha Hluttaw under the 2015 Amyotha Hluttaw Law is complete for one year and extended it for another year under Article 107 in the 2015 Amyotha Hluttaw Law.
Then the Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw made a welcoming speech and praised the efforts of the Members of Parliament in vetting the national projects, budget and taxation, amending, new drawing and withdrawing of drafts, discussing proposals and responding to questions during the meetings.
He gave the messages to the Members of Parliament to continue meeting with the public to fulfil their requests and the developmental matters when they return home to their constituencies after Hluttaw’s meetings. He then announced that the fourth regular section of second Amyotha Hluttaw had been successfully completed.
