Monsoon paddy model plot harvested in Nay Pyi Taw

STAFF of the Agriculture Department and of region, district and township agricultural coordination committees harvested model plots of Palethwe hybrid paddy on a 10-acre farm in Montegwin village, Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, on 29 November.
Deputy director-general U Naing Kyi Win of the Agriculture Department spoke with local farmers and agricultural staff. The head of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area Agriculture Department discussed the yield of the model paddy plot and future tasks. The model plot yielded 6,000 kilos of paddy per acre.
Local farmers in the eight townships of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area each grow 10-acres of Palethwe hybrid paddy and compete over who can produce the most.—Ko Pauk (Okkar Myay)
