Monsoon paddy cultivation exceeds target in Lewe Township

The Department of Agriculture has cultivated a total of 61,220 acres of rice paddy in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, which exceeds the department’s target area of 60,721 acres by nearly 500 acres.
Farmers in the area seek to increase their paddy yield with the cooperation of the staff members from agriculture department following this year’s heavy rains.
