The Myanmar Under 23 national football team and the Mongolia national football team played an international friendly match at Thuwunna Stadium yesterday evening and Mongolia beat Myanmar 2-1.
Myanmar football star Aung Thu did not participate in the match which caused insufficient attacks from Myanmar to the opponents. The match showed great teamwork by the Mongolian.
The lineup for Myanmar U23 included goal keeper Sann Sat Naing, Thiha Htet Aung, Captain Si Thu Aung, Soe Moe Kyaw, Htike Htike Aung, Hlaing Bo Bo, Yan Naing Oo, Maung Maung Lwin, Win Naing Tun, Yan Paing Soe and Pyae Sone Naing along with striker Than Paing, Aung Kaung Mann and Lwin Moe Aung in the substitutes list. Two early, consecutive goals scored in the very first half by Mongolia affected the spirit of Myanmar players and they were not able to show their original skills even more.
At the 40 minute mark, Myanmar’s Thiha Htet Aung achieved the red card for his action and the lack of one player really affected Myanmar to survive until the last minute. Mongolia also dominated the second half with their careful play. Myanmar got their single goal at the 77 minute mark. The goal was scored beautifully by Captain Si Thu Aung on his free kick.
