Monastic school opened in Mantong

MANTONG — A monastic education school was opened at Aungchantha Mantauk Monastery on 31 August in Mantong Township in the Palaung Self-Administered Zone in Shan State, with blessings from Mantong’s chief abbot Sayadaw Bhaddanta Kelasa.
Headmaster Sayadaw Bhaddanta Sunanda said that the objective of opening the school was to provide new educational opportunities to the next generation of ethnic minority students. He said that students from all religions are welcome to enroll. — Myint Aung (Ka-Ma)
