Modern rice mill starts operation in Nay Pyi Taw

Vice President U Nyan Tun  and union ministers opened a modern rice mill with 220 tonnes capacity per day here on Sunday.
The rice mill is operated by the Myanmar Agribusiness Public Corporation, a wholly- non-government Public Corporation established in 2012.
At the opening ceremony, Union Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation U Myint Hlaing said Myanmar exported more than 1.8 million tonnes of rice in 2014-2015 fiscal year, and the MAPCO will sell agricultural inputs and will purchase K4,000 per paddy basket under the contract farming system.
Union Minister for Commerce U Win Myint and Chairman of MAPCO U Chit Khaing explained the establishment of modern rice mill in Nay Pyi Taw council area.
U Chit Khaing then gave K 750 million and agricultural input items including paddy seeds and fertilizers to the farmers.
The rice produced from this modern mill will be sold in attractive modern packaging.
