MNS Sinbyushin participates in PLA Navy IFR, China-ASEAN Joint Maritime Exercise

Myanmar Navy Ship (MNS) Sinbyushin led by Commodore Zwe Win Myint left Yangon on 11 April and arrived at Qingdao, People’s Republic of China on 22 April to participate in the People’s Liberation Army-PLA Navy 70th anniversary International Fleet Review (IFR) and China-ASEAN Joint Maritime Exercise.
MNS Sinbyushin sailed more than 3,800 nautical miles of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Viet Nam and China’s territorial waters passing through Andaman Sea, Strait of Malacca, South China Sea, Taiwan Strait, East China Sea and Yellow Sea. During the long journey its crew conducted practical exercises. While MNS Sinbyushin was in Qingdao, it participated in the PLA Navy 70th anniversary IFR held yesterday. From 24 to 26 April, the ship crew will conduct mutual visits to other naval vessels participating in the event, hold friendly sports competition, conduct study tour of Qingdao and participate in China-ASEAN Joint Maritime Exercise with naval vessels from PLA Navy and ASEAN countries.
The Joint Maritime Exercise will include sailing in formation, exercises, boarding and searching a ship, search and rescue exercises, mutual landing of helicopters on ships, communication exercises and exercise on transport and evacuation of casualties, according to news released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services. — MNA
