A meeting of executive committee members of the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) has concluded with an agreement to form football federations at township levels across the country.
“The forming of football federations in every township is in a bid to improve the level of football in the country and to boost physical and intellectual development of Myanmar youth. We’ll implement the federations in the same manner as the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). These kinds of initiatives are also being carried out in other countries around the world,” said U Zaw Zaw, president of the MFF.
The elected executive committee members meeting was held on 18 June, according to talks during the meeting, footballs tactics, coaches and training equipment will be supported to every state and region across Myanmar once the federations have been formed.
“We must establish these football federations,” added U Zaw Zaw.
“We’ll personally provide support for the requirements of the townships, but the public must take on the responsibility to actually organise themselves to form the federations.”
The MFF will reportedly acquire permission to form the township level football federations from concerned government departments. The federations can be established as soon as permission has been granted.—Myitmakha News Agency
