Missionary University holds religious ceremony in Taikkyi

Pan Tapwint Taung Buddhist Missionary University in Taikkyi, Yangon Region, held a religious ceremony yesterday morning in which certificates were presented to the prominent monks of the university.
First, the congregation received the Nine Precepts from Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddama Jotika Dhaja Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa, the Secretary of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee.
Then Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko and Chief Minister of Yangon Region U Phyo Min Thein presented certificates to the Ovadacariya Sayadaws of the unisversity.
Then the diamond orb for the new sacred umbrella and vane of the pagoda of the university were presented.
A member Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, on behalf of the Ovadacariya Sayadaws, delivered a sermon.
The Rector Sayadaw of the university spoke words of thanks.
After the Union Minister supplicated on religious matters, offertories were presented to the Sayadaws.
The Chancellor Sayadaw of the university then delivered a sermon, and merits gained were shared. Also present were officials of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and invited guests. —MNA (Translated by TMT)
