Military seizes weapons, ammunition from rebels

Army troops and members of Border Guard Force in Kayin state confiscated weapons and ammunition after three clashes against a rebel group led by Kyaw Thet and Saw San Aung, former members of Karen Klo-Htoo-Baw Organisation (KKO) from 22 to 24 July.
While military columns were stepping up raids on hidden places of rebels on 24 July, three suspects were arrested with a grenade. Further raids were conducted after their tip-off, and more weapons and ammunition were confiscated around the hillside of Kaungmu Village in Kawkareik Township.
On Saturday, 17 members of rebel under the control of Kyaw Thet and Saw San Aung returned to the legal fold with weapons and ammunition.
