THE Myanmar Mercantile Marine College under the Ministry of Transport concluded its diploma course with a graduation ceremony at its parade ground in Kamayut Township, Yangon Region, yesterday.
Union Minister U Nyan Tun Aung presented awards to Nay Ye Lwin and Kaung Htet Naing for their outstanding performance in marine and engineering modules, respectively.
In an address, the union minister said the graduating officers were taught in line with the curricula recognised by the International Maritime Organisation. He encouraged the pursuit of knowledge in their related fields in this highly competitive world.
A total of 133 students—64 in marine and 69 in engineering—graduated this year from the Myanmar Mercantile Marine College. Established in 1963, the school has produced 2,540 marine officers and 2,485 marine engineers.—Myanmar News Agency
