MDA launches dental and oral health awareness month in Mandalay

THE Myanmar Dental Association has launched the fourth dental and oral health awareness month in Mandalay in cooperation with Colgate-Palmolive yesterday.
The launching ceremony was held at the Mingalar Mandalay, Chanmyathasi Township in Mandalay on Monday, attended by the chairman and members of the association, faculty members and students from the University of Dental Medicine (Mandalay) and enthusiasts.
In his address, Dr Pwint Phu, chairman of the association, said the launch of the health awareness month could help increase awareness and promote dental and oral health services for women and children.
Dr. Sompong of Colgate said that today’s event was the first step for promotion of dental and oral health care in Myanmar.
During the ceremony, attendees were provided with dental and oral health care services free of charges. According to the association, dentists are set to conduct dental and oral health care services at hospitals and clinics, numbering 379, in Yangon, Mandalay and other major cities during the period from 1st to 29th February.
