Mausoleum for Heroes (Nay Pyi Taw) at Armed Forces Day

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attends the opening of the Mausoleum for Fallen Heroes.

The opening ceremony of Mausoleum for Heroes (Nay Pyi Taw) was held at 9 am yesterday, at Zeyarthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council, in honour of 72nd Armed Forces Day.
At the ceremony, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services opened the Mausoleum for Heroes by pressing the button. Then, flames of honour in the 4 stars beside the monument in the premises of the mausoleum were lit by pressing the button of the machine. Afterward, C-in-C of Defence Services laid the flower basket of honour in front of the monument, paying salute to fallen soldiers for the country and the Tatmadaw.
The ground breaking ceremony for mausoleum was held on March 29, 2016 on the hillock of 38.5 acres, and the mausoleum was built of marble stones measuring 54 feet each in width, length and height, at 3000 feet far from the east of the parade ground. It was sculpted in 34 Myanmar fine arts.
