In preparation for the general election on November 8, the Mandalay Region government has enforced tighter security measures across the region since July 6. Police patrols have been intensified by adding 557 police personnel in the region, which has resulted in lower rates of petty theft.
Between January and the end of July this year, 27 cases of robbery were solved in the region, according to the region’s police department.
