Mandalay holds Business Forum 2018 Trade Fair

The Mandalay Business Forum 2018 was held, at 9.30 a.m. yesterday, at the Mandalay Convention Centre (MCC) in Mandalay which aims at boosting trading sectors and investment enterprises.
The Mandalay Business forum 2018 Trade Fair, which was co-organized by Mandalay Region Investment Committee, Myanmar Investment Commission, The Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), Ministry of Commerce and New Starlight Group of Companies.
At the forum, Chairman of the Myanmar Investment Commission U Thaung Tun, Mandalay Region Chief Minister Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Mon State Chief Minister Dr. Aye Zan, Deputy Commerce Minister U Aung Htoo, ministers from the Mandalay Region government, regions and state ministers for Planning and Finance, departmental heads, ambassadors, officials from INGOs, foreign investors, business organizations and business personnel from Mandalay attended.
At the forum, Mandalay Region Chief Minister Dr. Zaw Myint Maung said, “Mandalay Business Forum 2018 was being held aiming to show many good opportunities for investment, trading and tourism sectors in Mandalay region. At the forum, discussions on Myanmar Company Acts, revenues and taxes can be made and which was attended by business personnel from local and foreign countries to discuss how to promote Myanmar’s trading enterprises.”
“I am much obliged to the businessmen who attended at this business forum and for their contribution in holding the forum, which plays a vital role in fostering economic development for the country. As there are many good opportunities to make investment in Mandalay, Mandalay region government will relax some restrictions within the framework of the rules and regulations. Thus, all are invited to make investment in Mandalay and we will fully support to do so.”
Then Chairman of the Myanmar Investment Commission U Thaung Tun said, “We are making changes around this time while carrying out to make sustainable development. Our country sandwiches between two emerging economies, China and India. Due to its strategic location, there are many good employment opportunities for young people in Myanmar.
Mandalay is a cultural capital, which plays a pivotal role for business resources such as construction, transportation and tourism sectors.
Myanmar is carrying out to set targets on sustainable economic development. Today’s forum is a place to show employment opportunities and business enterprises for Myanmar nationals and foreigners alike, and we can realize how to gain privileges and profits.” He added that the new laws and rulings can enhance the progress and quality for the investors, aiming to attract the foreign investments, job creation for the locals and the improvement of workforce.”
Following Deputy Minister for Commerce U Aung Htoo made remarks at the Mandalay Business Forum 2018; all the attendees took documentary photographs together.
Next business roundtable talks continued and Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration U Aung Naing Oo discussed the title on “Mandalay: the heart and hub of Myanmar”, New Starlight Group of Companies U Lin Htut Oo discussed the title on “Promoting Modern Urban Lifestyle in Mandalay”, President of Mandalay Region Mango Group, Vice President Mandalay Region Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producer and Exporter Association Daw Than Than Swe discussed the title on “Food Processing of Mandalay Region Fruit: Opportunity & Challenges”, Mandalay Myotha Industrial Development Co., Ltd Managing Director Dr. Tun Tun Aung discussed the title on”Golden Land of Myanmar, Road to Mandalay”, Myanmar International Freight forwarders Association General Secretary Daw Ye Ye Hla joined the discussion on “Logistic Hub: Opportunities and Challenges”, Public Relation Section, Department of Urban and Housing Development, Nay Pyi Taw Director Daw Moe Thidar discussed the title on “Why City Development is important”, and Ministry of Hotels and Tourism Director U San Yu discussed the title on “Tourism Investment”.
A total of 120 participants, including ambassadors, officials from different embassies, representatives from companies and business enterprises, joined the discussion of the Mandalay Business forum 2018 Trade Fair, together with some 200 participants from different countries attend it.
