Mandalay artists raise funds for flood victims

Paint DonateA group of 25 artists created paintings along the moat in Mandalay as part of a fundraiser for flood victims.
On 3 August, the artists raised more than K5 million from the proceeds of their paintings. They sold their works for K5,000 each, artist U Khin Maung San said.
“As artists are not rich, they earn income from creation of artistic works for flood victims,” he said.
Artist Kyaw Thiha said, “Artists from Mandalay joined the fund-raising group. Some well-wishers donated about K1.5 million to the artists’ fund.”
The artists plan to showcase paintings at the gallery at the foot of Mandalay Hill from 15 to 17 August.
