Machinery hiring programme assists village farmers

paddySingaing, 29 July —The Agricultural Mechanization Department is providing planting and harvesting assistance to local farmers at nominal rates in Meethwaybok village, Singaing Township, according to officials.
“Local farmers hire combine harvesters, tractors and power-tillers for farming works on 100 acres of farmland irrigated by the Shwehlanbo river water station,” head of Township AMD U Sithu Kyaw said.
“Use of agricultural machinery cuts time spent on farm work more than cattle,” a local resident said. “We do not need to worry about shortages of labour at cultivation and harvesting time thanks to advantages of mechanized farming.” Tin Tin Htwe (Singaing)
