Laukkai returns to normalcy

Before the Union Day on 12 February 2015, MNDAA insurgents led by Pong Kya Shin sneaked into Laukkai region and tried to capture Laukkai town. But, the Tatmadaw spoiled the insurgents’ attempt and took control of the whole area.
Form 9 February to this date, altogether 483 clashes broke out between the Tatmadaw and the insurgents in Laukkai area and the Tatmadaw seized 226 bodies of insurgents, assorted weapons and ammunitions and other equipments. During the period 48 insurgents were captured alive. Officers and other ranks had to sacrifice their lives for the nation.
As Laukkai area is bordering with China and is located on a rough terrain, the Tatmadaw had to retake the area sacrificing the lives and limbs of its members. As a result, the area has returned to normalcy. For more safety, the Tatmadaw is taking measures with  locals and departments concerned.
