A Laotian delegation led by Vice President Bounnhang Vorachith paid homage Thursday at Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon after departing Nay Pyi Taw earlier in the day.
The vice president and his wife were seen off at Nay Pyi Taw airport by Yangon Region Minister for Border Affairs and Security Col Tin Win and his wife, the military attaché of Laos to Myanmar and his wife, and officials from the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
At the pagoda, the vice president and spouse offered flowers, water and lights to the pagoda as well as funds to the pagoda board of trustees.
After their visit, the delegation attended a lunch hosted by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Myint Swe and wife at Chatrium Hotel.
The Laotian guests left Yangon on Thursday evening.
