Lake Reed in Chin State has become a popular destination for recreational holidaying, attracting local and foreign visitors.
The majority of foreign visitors to the heart-shape lake, which is 2,966 feet above sea level in Chin State, are students from Mizoram, India, while ethnic people from Myanmar have visited the lake in groups especially on holiday for recreation.
The significant feature of the lake is its turning a reddish colour in December each year, according to local residents.
“I had never been to Chin state and had only heard of Lake  Reed. So this year, I came to visit and it is so amazing for me to see the heart shape lake at the top of the hill. The weather is so nice and I am really happy to be here.” said a visitor.
