CELEBRATING the opening of it’s 400th bank branch, Kanbawza bank (KBZ) organised a tree planting ceremony in Aungpan, Shan State, yesterday.
The ceremony was participated in by Chairman of KBZ Group of Companies U Aung
Ko Win, departmental heads, business men at home and abroad, employees of KBZ and guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Senior Executive Director U Nyo Myint of the KBZ Group of Companies, said KBZ’s bank branches have been mushrooming nationwide and the number of banks reached 400 on Tuesday with the opening of a bank branch on west Shwegondaing Rd in Bahan Township.
KBZ, which was opened in Myanmar in 1994 and now has 400 branches and more than 16,000 members of staff nationwide, is also the only one fund settlement bank on the Yangon Stock Exchange.
With receiving permission to open its representative offices in Thailand and Singapore, KBZ has a plan to extend its banking services in ASEAN countries and east Asian countries, he added.
KBZ also established KBZ Gateway Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Myanmar’s KBZ Group of Companies Ltd, using Oracal Flexcube Core Banking Software for better, faster, stronger international and local banking services.
The bank was also awarded with the Special Honourary State Excellence Award by the president for being number one on the country’s tax-paying list for four consecutive years.
Besides, it has been awarded with several local and international awards for its contribution to socio-economic development, with spending more than K 103 billion.
