Landslides caused by torrential rain destroyed roads in Kawthoung-Bokpyin Pyidaungsu Road at milepost four near Shwe Pyi Soe village-track on 12 July, according to a reporter from the Township Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) yesterday. A 150-feet-high and 100-feet-wide mound of earth dislodged from a hillside and blocked the road.
Authorities used heavy machinery to clear the debris and reopen the roads. No one was injured in the accident.
