Thingyan Water Festival activities in Kawthaung Township were held in line with traditional cultural customs with revelers enjoying water splashing on the final day of Thingyan Festival on April 16.
Township Central pandal was crowded with revelers who enjoyed throwing water at each other and the entrainment of Myanmar traditional dance troupes. Families from respective Governmental Departments charitably served a feast to the revelers.
There were no incidents of violence or crime reported at the celebrations, which has been attributed to the conduct of younger festival goers who were said to have enjoyed the festival responsibly.—Kyaw Soe (Kawthaung—IPRD)
