Judicial officers discuss reducing cases

Judicial officials need to win the trust of the people while uplifting the prestige of the courts, Chief Justice of Mandalay Region High Court U Soe Thein said Wednesday at a meeting aimed at reducing the number of judicial cases.
The chief justice said judges should hand down sentences in criminal cases that deter law-breaking.
Mandalay Region Minister for Security and Border Affairs Col Aung Kyaw Moe, Transport Minister U Kyaw Hsan and Advocate General of the region U Ye Aung Myint participated in discussions.–Thiha Ko Ko (Mandalay)
