A JOINT Implementation Coordination Meeting on the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement was held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
In his extended greetings, Union Minister for the Office of the State Counsellor U Kyaw Tint Swe said that such meetings will be held every three months.
Chairman of the Peace Commission Dr Tin Myo Win stressed the need for working together for peace, quoting the State Counsellor as saying that developmental undertakings cannot be implemented without peace.
Next, P’doh Saw Kwe Htoo Win, general secretary of the Karen National Union, called for building trust to address possible challenges to peace.
During the meeting, UPDJC secretaries elaborated on the committee’s work implementation and sought the approval of the meeting.  Then, a list of the names of the members of the Joint Ceasefire Monitoring Committee-Union Level was presented to the meeting and approved.
The meeting came to an end with concluding remarks by Vice-Chairman of Arakan Liberation Party Khaing Soe Naing Aung, Peace Commission Chairman Dr Tin Myo Win and Union Minister U Kyaw Tint Swe.—Myanmar News Agency
