Japan grants US$153,095 for a school in Kya-in-seikkyi Tsp

Mr. Tateshi Higuchi, Ambassador of Japan to Myanmar, and Chairman of Kya Khet Chaung Village School Construction Committee, signed the grant contract of US$153,095 for the project for construction of Kya Khet Chaung Village Basic Education Branch High School in Kya-in-seikkyi Township, Kayin State under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP) Scheme.
The Japanese Government, under its GGP scheme, will support construction of a two-storey R.C.C building with 8 classrooms and full furniture. It is expected that the project will benefit 654 ethnic students of Kayin and Mon at the school.
The Government of Japan has assisted 729 various
grass-roots projects in Myanmar under the GGP scheme since 1993.
