IDPs in Kyaukme reach 700

THE number of villagers who have fled to Nat Sa Lin monastery in Kyaukme Township has reached 700 followingthe fightings between the TNLA and RCSS in the township.
Villagers fleeing the fightings                       near Man PaukVillage inPon Lon Village-tract arrived at the monastery last night, said U Tun, a local, adding that they have been accommodated at the monastery.
People from some villages fled their places to escape possible fighting there, said U AungAung from Hsipaw.
The monastery saw more arrivals of IDPs on 5 May, receiving 190 in total.
According to the Hsipaw Township General Administration Department, 132 people from Pan KharVillage arrived at Yadana Shwegu Monastery to find shelter on 3 May.—Aung Thant Khaing
