Hpa-an to get modern swimming pool

AUTHORITIES in Kayin State are building a high-standard swimming pool in Hpa-an, expecting to produce talented swimmers for the state.
This will be the first high-standard swimming pool in Kayin State, and it will also be open to local residents for exercise and leisure.
The facility will include a meeting hall, a car park, a resting room for athletes, a locker room, a bathroom and toilets.
The swimming pool project is being carried out under the supervision of the Department of Sports and Physical Education and the Kayin State government and by Twin & Soe Brother Construction Company. It is now 85 per cent complete. The pool will span 50 metres by 25 metres.
The pool is being built with funding from the Kayin State government’s 2015-2016 budget with K300 million allotted by the state’s Sports and Physical Education Department. Well-known swimmer Mah Pupi Minsoe and diver Ko Zwe Thet Oo represent the state in competitions.
