Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Htay Aung paid a visit to Hilton Hotel’s vocational hotel training diploma course on September 21.
The course is being held at the Hilton’s hotel school in Nay Pyi Taw. The two-year course includes cooking, food and beverage serving, cleaning and pasty making. The 40 trainees were selected after sitting an exam and they are provided with lodging and a monthly stipend. The union minister said that as a world class hotel of great repute, Hilton Hotel trainees will have greatly improved job prospects. In addition to the new skills being taught, he urged trainees to practice their English language skills, as it is a necessity for international hotel staff. On completion of the course, trainees will receive a certified diploma from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and Hilton Worldwide Group.
