Well-regarded Yadanabon FC was beaten by Hanthawady FC in a Week-9 match of MPT Myanmar National League 2018 played at Mandalar Thiri Stadium in Mandalay yesterday 4pm.
Yadanabon FC lined up with Goalkeeper Chan Nyein Kyaw, Captain Thein Than Win, Ye Yint Aung, Ye Yint Tun, Shine Thura, ThetNaing, Hlaing Bo Bo, Pyae Sone Naing, Aung Wunna Soe, Win Naing Soe, Htalan Hote Htan.
Hantha wady United lined up with Keeper KoKoNaing, Captain Aung Zaw, Aung Moe Htwe, Joseph, Aung Myo Thu Ya, Ny iNyi Aung, Lar Din Maw Yar, Hein Htet Aung, Micheal, Bo Bo Naing and Htet Lin Lin.
Both teams played energetically from the start.
The first half ended in a scoreless tie as Hanthawady withstood Yadanabon’s attacks with stable defensive and midfield play.
Hanthawady’s power play was significantly better in the other half after players’ substitution.
Hanthawady made its opening goal at the 58 minute mark by the left-wing kick scored by Hanthawady’s wing fielder Htet Lin Lin.
The goal seemed to deflate the spirit of Yadanabon from getting more goals. Nevertheless, Yadanabon gained the consolation goal at the 79 minute mark.
The goal was scored by its star player Si Thu Aung with his speedy passes over the Hanthawady defenders.
Unfortunately, just before the final whistle, Hanthawady celebrated their win along with the long kick of Joseph.
