Govt, NLD hold first coordination meeting on systematic handing over of the duty of the Head of State, ministries

THE government’s supporting committee for the handing over of the duties of the Head of State and ministries and the National League for Democracy’s committee held their first coordination meeting in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The two sides openly discussed plans for holding a ceremony to transfer the duty of the Head of State at the Presidential Palace and steps for handing over ministries to the next government.
A date for the second coordination meeting will be decided by the two sides.
At the meeting, the government’s supporting committee was led by the committee’s chairman Union Minister U Hla Tun and members. Union ministers U Ye Htut, Director-General of the President Office U Hla Tun, Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Construction U Maung Maung Ohn and Director of the President Office U Zaw Htay were in attendance while the NLD’s committee was led by its chairman U Win Htein, a member of the Central Executive Committee of the NLD, Dr Myo Aung, CEC member of NLD and Dr Aung Thu, a retired rector of Yangon University.
