The Government Employees Cooperative Society of Myawady District held its annual meeting for the 2014-15 financial on 12 September.
The chair of GEC’s Board of Directors U Ye Win, District’s Deputy Commissioner U Lwin Ko Oo and Staff Officer U Naing Oo of the township Cooperative Department encouraged relevant authorities to provide more loans to agriculture and livestock businesses. Loans of K100,000 were disbursed to 220 society members during the meeting.
The society’s financial reports were also read out at the meeting, which took place at Thaungyin City Hall.
The society fetched a profit of K4.53 million over the 2014-15 financial year. A new board of directors was elected for the 2015-16 financial year during the meeting. The society has 677 members with 945 shares totalling K14.17 million (US$11,000).
