A giant whale was found dead on a beach near Kanpauk Village in Kyeintali Town, Rakhine State, on 7 July.
The whale measures around 33 feet in length and 9 ft in circumference, said an official from the Department of Fisheries.
Fishery officials are attempting to extract all the bones from the whale.
Local fishermen worry this could lead to water pollution in the area, according to a source from the Information and Public Relations Department.—MDN
