German Minister holds talks with President U Htin Kyaw, Union Minister Daw Aung San Suu Kyi

GERMAN Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dr Gerd Müller held separate talks with President U Htin Kyaw and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
In the meeting with the Union Foreign Affairs Minister the two representatives held discussions regarding bilateral cooperation in development matters, the establishment of vocational training centres and organic agriculture development in Myanmar as well as the promotion of bilateral trade and continued support for the ongoing peace process by Germany and the European Union.
Next, the visiting German minister paid a courtesy call on President U Htin Kyaw, holding talks on economic cooperation and private sector development, financial and technical assistance to development of Myanmar’s small and medium enterprises, the sharing of modern farming practices and the establishment of agricultural processing plants as well as the successful realisation of the 21th Century Panglong Conference and measures to be taken for peace and stability in Rakhine State. During his calls with the President and the Union Foreign Affairs Minister the minister invited both of them to pay goodwill visit to Germany.
