Fundraising photo exhibition to be held for flood victims

Yangon, 9 Aug—A charity dedicated to assisting flood victims is preparing to host an exhibition of works by members of the Myanmar Photographic Society, its joint-secretary said Sunday.
The fundraising show will be held from 17 to 19 August at Dagon Centre II in Sangyoung Township in Yangon.
The society has already collected more than 100 colour and black-and-white photographs donated by its members, photographer Zaw Zaw Tun told The Global New Light of Myanmar.
“The works may cover a wide range of subjects such as landscapes and ethnic traditions,” he added.
“Exhibited works will be selling for just 30,000 kyats (around US$30) per photo,” the 35-year-old photographer said. “This is an opportunity for collectors, as artists normally sell their works at a higher price.”
“All proceeds from the event will go to the charity,” said Zaw Zaw Tun, who donated three landscape photos for the event.
