Incessant rains triggered landslides in villages of Kayah State on 11 October, leaving 53 homes damaged and 17 people dead, according to a local fire brigade.
Mawchi, Yukawkho and Zeepingwayt villages were affected in the disaster, with five people reported missing.
Rushing to the scenes, local firefighters carried out rescue services and search operations.
The rescue team cleared blockages on roads and constructed a temporary inter-village path.
