Extended hospital buildings in Hlaingthaya nears completion

THE construction of the 100-bed hospital in Hlaingthaya, one of most populated suburban townships in Yangon, is nearly completed and it is scheduled to be finished at the end of this month, Project Manager U Zeya Tun said.
With the aim of providing better healthcare to members of public, the project was initiated in December 2014 near the 45-bed Hlaingthaya Township Hospital.
Each RC building will be 134 feet long, 56 feet wide and 30 feet high.
To match the increased number of patients with rooms, authorities decided to construct the extended buildings near the existing 45-bed hospital, which does not have enough spaces for emergency patients and immediately moves them to Insein General Hospital and Yangon General Hospital
After completion of the new buildings, the hospital will deal with emergency cases occurring within the township as well as Htantabin Township, Dr Khin Yupa Soe said.
Officials and staff from the Ministry of Health have providing medical services to residents through the 45-bed township hospital, a township health department, a hospital in Shwelinban Indsutrial Zone and rural health branches.
There are over 800,000 people residing in Hlaingthaya Township.—Than Htike (Hlaingthaya)
