- Although there are economic challenges the world is facing, global tourism remains robust with its future brighter than ever. As the number of people from various countries travelling around the world is increasing, the tourism industry has much more to offer.
Some global TV networks are foreseeing Myanmar as the next popular tourism hotspot of the world, as it is blessed with a myriad of unspoiled destinations from snow-capped towering mountain ranges in the far north to wonderful archaeological sites in the central and west and sunny beaches along the coast. Besides, the sincere smiles of its thanatkha (natural makeup from the bark of the thanakha tree) wearing people are another bonanza.
With its high potentials for progress of the industry, Myanmar is gearing up for further improving its services and facilities including travel, food, accommodations, and is also extending the different types of tourism.
In general, Myanmar can offer leisure travel as it has many untouched beaches, winter tourism on the snow-capped mountains of the far north, culture tourism showing lifestyles of our nationalities, their colourful costumes and lovely art, their traditions and customs and land, extreme tourism that guides visitors to mountains, forests and caves, heritage tourism as our forefathers had left behind many archaeological wonders, wildlife tourism for people who love nature and its flora and fauna, underwater tourism in places like the Myeik Archipelago and even sports tourism.
People usually travel to other parts of the world to see natural beauties, ancient edifices, different cultures, and enjoy a wonderful time in an exotic place. Normally, they come to spend money.
So, what we need for the industry is excellent and hospitable services and modern facilities that make a destination livelier and a visitor happier and spend more.
