Entrepreneurial event at Mandalay trade expo

A TRADE expo featuring products manufactured from local small-and-medium scale enterprises in Mandalay came to an end on Sunday. The event was organised by the region’s Department of Small-and-Medium Scale Enterprise.
The exhibition aims to assist local entrepreneurs through networking events to potentially be exposed to opportunities, as well as promoting people’s interest in local products.
As of 25 June, the expo was held in 73 Street in Chanmyathazi Township in Mandalay showcasing machineries, cosmetics, export products, household utensils and personnel goods produced from local SMEs in 85 booths.
Traditional handmade materials including paintings ,and the country’s prized ornament lacquerware were displayed for sale at the event. U Swe Tint, director of the SME department, said the department severally conducts a series of trade expos in Mandalay where a large number of SMEs, local manufacturers produce valued-added products and hope to find new markets in foreign countries.—Aung Thant Khaing
