The Emerald Green Rural Development Plan will be launched in flood-hit Myanaung township during the current 2015-2016 financial   year.
The plan is part of the broader rural poverty alleviation plan and aims to help boost farmers’ incomes.
Bank accounts for 18 villagers in the township have been opened as part of the scheme, according to the township rural development office of Ministry of  Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development. The Myseinyaung fund supervision committee has been organised with the approval of member villagers. Member farmers will be able to kick-start their farming activities as water levels recede using loans provided under the plan.
