Dy Minister inspects road, bridge works in Rakhine State

Deputy Minister for Construction U Kyaw Lin accompanied by officials went along An-Padekyaw-Maei road on 20 June to inspect roads and bridges damaged by recent heavy rain.
The Deputy Minister and party inspected the strength of the concrete bridge at the entrance of Padekyaw village and the waterway beneath it, damage to the box culvert at mile post 21/7 near Padekyaw village and construction of a temporary 90 ft. long Bailey bridge, and damage to the Taungup-Maei at mile post 31/5.
He remarked on making preparation against various possibilities and went on to inspect damages to road and bridges along the Taungup-Thandwe-Ngapali road.
On 21 June, the Deputy Minister and party inspected the upgrading of the Thandwe-Gwa-Ngathaingchaung road conducted with the World Bank’s assistance.
The Deputy Minister also inspected construction of retaining walls and construction of a box culvert on the road.
During his tour of inspection, the deputy minister commented on conducting the works properly and with good wills as the works are being conducted under the assistance of the World Bank.
