DMH releases water level projections

THE Department of Meteorology and Hydrology announced on Monday that the water level of the Chindwin River would rise approximately one foot and six inches in Hkamti yesterday and by about two feet in Homalin over yesterday and today. The river may remain above what is considered to be dangerous levels for the near future, according to their 14.30 hr MST observation yesterday.
The department advised people settled near the river bank and surrounding low-lying areas along the Chindwin River to take precautionary measures or, if possible, temporarily relocate.—Myanmar News Agency
