A discussion on draft National Strategic Plan for Youth Policy was held at Mingala Thiri Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
At the event Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye said the ministry was striving toward developing fully qualified human resources, individual existence and development from birth to old-age for all. Work processes were implemented to obtain these full rights of individual existence and development. National Strategic Plan for Youth Policy was being drafted by prioritizing youth so that a good inheritance for the future could be left behind. It’ll depend on the youth to establish a good program for the future in implementing changes by learning from mistakes made in the past. It is the duties and responsibilities of youth to lead the future generation with new thoughts and visions. As there were differing requirements for youth depending on states and regions, work processes were to be drawn up with the requirements of the region and youth in mind. Discussions were invited to expose priority matters from the 16 sectors in the youth policy.
In walking down the path of democracy and establishing a democratic federal Union the aim was to achieve equality of all youths including ethnic national youths. For a democracy system to take root youth are to perform the ongoing responsibilities and strive toward leaving behind good results for the new generation, said the Union Minister.
Next, comments and suggestions of departmental organisations on draft strategic plan were discussed by Amyotha Hluttaw representatives, states/regions social ministers, Department of Social Welfare officials, youth representatives and departmental representatives. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
