Deputy Minister visits JICA, national parks in Japan

Deputy Minister for Environmental Conservation and Forestry U Aye Myint Maung visited Japan from 26 to 29 October.
During his visit, the deputy minister met Mr Yasushita Tanaka, Asia and Pacific Region director-general of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the agency’s head office in Tokyo and discussed the implementation of eight forestry projects and progress in the mangrove forest project, which will be completed in 2017 in the Ayeyawady delta region. The deputy minister also held a meeting with the chairperson of Kokusai Kogyo Co Ltd, Ms Sandra Wu. They discussed further cooperation in the establishment and conservation of mangrove forests in the delta area. The deputy minister also visited Nikko National Park and Mt Fuji National Park.
