THE Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, also Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win met with military officers and their families yesterday at the North-East Command in Lashio, Shan State.
The deputy commander-in-chief stressed that Myanmar is home to more than 100 ethnic groups and described the army as a “union army”because it is comprised bya variety
of ethnic groups.
“All military personnel embrace the spirit of the union and uphold the country’s integrity, sovereignty and territory,” he said.
Vice-Senior General Soe Win also visited a military hospital at Lashio’s military command and spoke to male and female patients receiving treatment.
