Defence Deputy C-in-C holds talks with US military delegation

DEPUTY Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice- Senior General Soe Win received Deputy Commander Lt-Gen Anthony Crutchfield of the US Pacific Command-PACOM at the Bayintnaung Yeiktha in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the meeting, the two representatives discussed reforms in Myanmar and the role of the Tatmadaw, relations between the military and the civilian government, the peace process and current armed conflicts in Kachin State, the situation of IDP camps and relations between the armed forces of the two countries.
Senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services were present at the meeting while the US military delegation was accompanied by US Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Scot Marciel, Military Attaché for the US Army Colonel James McAden, Military Attaché for the US Airforce Lt Col Rachel Smith and officials.
