A DAYTIME care home for the elderly run by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement was provided with two ferries by KBZ’s Brighter Future Myanmar foundation-BFM yesterday.
At the ceremony held at the Day Care Centre for the Aged in Mayangon Township, Daw Nang Kham Naung, the vice chairperson of the BFM handed over documents related to the two Hundai vehicles, each with a seating capacity of 28 persons, to Dr Win Myat Aye, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.
On behalf of the aged at the centre U Soe Hlaing expressed his thanks to the foundation and its chairperson Daw Nang Lang Kham for the donation, saying that the move would enable the aged to come to the centre and return home safely and with convenience. The day care centre was opened in November 2013 and cares for around 70 aged people.—Thura Lwin (Eco)
