Daw Aung San Suu Kyi undergoes second eye operation

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi received a second operation to remove a cataract from her left eye yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.
The successful operation started around 9 am at the Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and finished around 10.30 am, according to the State Counsellor’s Office.
State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who is also Union Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister of the President’s office, underwent an operation on her right eye at the same hospital on April 9.
According to sources, eye specialists have advised her to rest and to limit using her eyes for a few days.
